YOUNGSTERS' ball control skills were honed by professionals at a soccer school at Exmouth Community College.

The roadshow was organised by Exeter City's Football in the Community Trust which is running a series of game-improving sessions across Devon this half-term.

The schools are open to boys and girls between the ages of five and 15 and every child who attends receives an Exeter City gift and goody bag.

Exeter City's community trust manager, Jamie Vittles, said: "The venue at Exmouth Community College is great, and there was a good turn out of about 25 young people who all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

"The day started with everybody learning how professional players warm up to improve agility, balance and co-ordination, followed by technical ball skills. After lunch there was a series of mini-tournaments."

The trust is running a specialist goalkeepers and strikers day on Friday, at King George V Playing Fields in Exeter from 10am until 3pm, with former Exeter City goalkeeper Martin Rice.

The day costs £15 and children are asked to bring sensible clothes to train in, a packed lunch and drinks.
