Young strings make festival music
EXETER Young Strings have taken part in a gala concert.
The musical charity, which helps children who wouldn't normally be able to afford to play an instrument, held the event at Whipton Community Hall, in Pinhoe Road, as part of the Exeter Autumn Festival.

Earlier this year, orchestra leaders were given a Youth Music grant, which has allowed them to work with two to five-year-olds at Beacon Heath Children's Centre, Whipton Children's Centre, Whipton Barton First School and Willowbrook School.
Many youngsters also have learning difficulties. Exeter City Council has also given the group cash to buy small violins and cellos for children from low income families.
