WILDLIFE and photography enthusiasts are in for a treat on Saturday when the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition opens in Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM).
The world's most prestigious annual wildlife photography competition, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, harnesses the power of photography to promote the discovery, understanding, and responsible enjoyment of the natural world. The winning photographs, from amateur and professional photographers alike, spotlight rarely seen wonders of the natural world inspiring wonder and highlighting the need for wildlife conservation.

Running from February 2 to June 2, the free exhibition showcases the winning images from all 11 categories of the competition including underwater worlds, urban wildlife and plants.
Visitors wishing to gain insight into the passion of the participating photographers can come to an afternoon talk by Westcountry competition winner, researcher and ecologist, Mark Tatchell. On Saturday 20 April, 2.30 to 3.30pm, he will share his fascination of the pristine Antarctic environment in a lecture building on his extensive experience of working as a wildlife guide on expeditions.
