My close encounter with UFO has left me baffled
RESIDENTS of a city street were stunned to see a strange object in the night sky above Exeter.
Arrow-shaped and red, it moved across Heavitree completely silently before disappearing without a trace.
The two men who witnessed it say they are usually cynical of sightings but are at a loss to explain the phenomenon.
They say they were even more surprised to see reports in a national newspaper this week of a similar unidentified flying object seen by residents of a Yorkshire town.

The object also bears a striking resemblance to a UFO pictured in the skies above Belgium in the early 1990s.
Nick Wheeler, 61, who works at a medical equipment suppliers on Sowton Industrial Estate, first saw the UFO outside his home in Haldon View Terrace on Saturday.
It was also seen by his partner Richard Coombe.
"I don't smoke inside and had stepped out for a cigarette," he said.
"It must have been about eight in the evening and I was looking at the sky when I saw this brightly-lit arrow-shaped object.
"At first I thought it was a helicopter but as it got closer it became apparent it was moving completely silently.
"I called to my partner and he came out and saw it too.
"It went over the top of the house and we went through to see it at the front but it had vanished.
"I have been wracking my brains for an explanation, I know people report Chinese lanterns as UFOs but there was no way it was one of them.
"I was stunned when I picked up a newspaper on Monday to see an object had been photographed above Rotherham that looked exactly the same."
The Rotherham UFO, also a triangular and lighted object, was seen Nayab Ahmed, 19, whose friend Anny Cummings, 18, took the picture.
Several residents of the South Yorkshire town saw it creep across the sky one day earlier this month.
Eerily it looks just like an object spotted over Belgium 20 years ago which so spooked authorities that F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept it.
Mr Ahmed, 19, said: "It moved really slowly but occasionally it'd shudder.
"It was completely silent."
Nick Pope, ex-head of the Ministry of Defence's UFO unit, said: "Some might suspect secret prototype aircraft and drones, but we test such craft in restricted military areas, not built-up places."
No one from the RAF was available to comment on the sightings.

“We are used to sitting in the garden at night and seeing small aircraft and large jets flying over. A few nights ago I was sitting out with a friend and we both spotted a brightly lit object and commented on how fast it was travelling across the sky and how it wasn't behaving like a normal aircraft, but didn't think anything of it until I read this article!”

“I used to live "oop north" somewhat near to the RAF base at Wharton in Blackpool. They tested (is tested the right word?!) what people used to call the "black triangle" all over the town, outlying villages, moors etc. UFO reports were rife and they denied it saying they were testing nothing, flying nothing etc. Then came out some time later and said oops yeh sorry, it was what we now know as the Eurofighter. We have no idea what the military are up to and its easier for them to perpetuate the little green men myth than to tell us, the dumb unsuspecting public, the truth! Having said that maybe it was a "herbal" cigarette he was smoking!!”

“It is almost laughable for me to hear people that have never had a close encounter think they are experts. Armchair experts perhaps but it seems to be just drivel that constantly reverberates around the world.
Is human truly that ignorant and arrogant? How embarrassing.
History has shown us that UFO and other beings are not new and have been here for the entire existence of mankind on Earth.
Estimates from polls show over 60% of the earth population think that ET and UFOs are real.
The truth is they are right. The fact is ..they are here too.
I cannot say what was seen here..but from my own encounters with crafts and beings I can say..this is not a matter to take light.
I have seen a craft that was at least a mile wide and two miles long. I have had close encounters with discs and elongated diamond crafts, so close I could throw a stone and hit them..
I have found myself ..it the "beam of light" more than once.
I have a lifetime of encounters..that continue to the present with my last being this summer with orange sphere that was less that 25 feet away. (it sure wasn't a Chinese lantern).
Most governments of this world have been dishonest about the matter of UFO.
Though there are some world leaders that have come forth to say it is all real...they are kept quiet through media control..and.. nothing ever becomes headline news that should.
We will all learn the truth one day but it will not be from our leaders..it will be from events to come, that do involve ET.
