“Yes! As far as i'm concerned, they simply copied what was happening in London. What does camping outside a cathedral have to do with they're protest against 'the 1%', surely it would make more sense to camp by the financial institutions they are protesting against. It was certainly a poor decision by them to camp on the newly refurbished green, turning that side of the green into a mud bath.”

“Yes. Stop punishing Exeter and it's Cathedral for the 'sins' of the Banks etc.
It has just turned into an excuse to attract homeless drunks and has ruined not only the Cathedral Green but the whole of the City Centre. This is our main attraction for tourists and it is putting many many people of visiting and therefore businesses etc are suffering. As are the neighbours who have to put up with the noise, the drunkenness, the fights, The Police being called, dogs running loose everywhere, excrement on the green at the back of the Cathedral and so on.
If you haven't seen what they have done, please go take a look. If you love your City, you will be horrified.”

“Get good and gone. Now is the time for direct action against these people. They HAVE ruined the green, they are actually affecting the city centre as a whole, thats according to the city centre manager. But they do not care, as long as they can put on their sanctimonious hats, and let us mortals know how wrong we are that is what matters. It has been stated on their FB page to remove fake accounts and non Exonians from the 99% don't want you on the green page. Personally i think this is a brilliant idea and will show the support the 99% page actually has. But while that is happening let's remove all the so called supporters who, don't live in Exeter, the students who are at university, and those who have NEVER been down to the camp to see what they have achieved with this petty minded pathetic ALLEGED protest. They are actually causing themselves major problems, because long after occupy has gone, the people of Exeter will remember what these protesters did, and accomplished. Dust may settle and to paraphrase the anonymous movement " we will not forgive, we will not forget" If that sounds threatening remember that is a statement from an organisation that a lot of occupiers support. Funny how it sounds when the table is turned”

“Occupy Exeter are in danger of becoming fraudsters , instead of the bankers ... I believe the people of Exeter would support OE if they target the right people ... OE need new ideas and courage , but time is running out and they need to vacate their comfort zone ... There are plenty of dreadful examples of financial and ethical degenerates all over Exeter ...”

“On my Christmas Day visit for Choral Evensong I barely noticed the Occupy Exeter protest camp. I can't really believe that the campers' actions will achieve anything other than become a magnet for the homeless and those with social problems. If there are actually any genuine protesters with the intellect and capacity for lucid speech to push their agenda then we have yet to hear or see the evidence. As such I have eery sympathy with the Cathedral authorities in wanting to have the Cathedral Green cleared as they are suffering with the offensive and antisocial behaviour of their uninvited guests.”

“Filthy lazy bums need to get a job instead of using the Cathedral Green as free rent, accomplish something other than ******* from the system then maybe someone will listen. I am having a hardtime to understand why it took so long to rid this lovely part of Exeter of this eyesore!!”
