Footlights

Ladies and Gentleman, it’s showtime at the Copacabana…

Join the University of Exeter's leading musical theatre society 'Footlights' as they take you back to 1947 New York, to the dazzling Copacabana nightclub for another show-stopping tale of music and passion.

Barry Manilow's musical follows aspiring songwriter, Stephen, as he composes what he hopes will become a hit musical. His imagination creates a story surrounding an ambitious young singer who arrives in New York City hoping to become a star.

Her name was Lola, just arrived from Tulsa, Oklahoma and with the help of songwriter Tony Forte, Lola gets a job as a glamorous 'Copa girl' at the famous "Copacabana".

Featuring well known classics such as "Copacabana", "Dancin' Fool" and "Ay Caramba!", this extravaganza of showgirls, gangsters, music and romance is not to be missed!

"Copacabana" will be run at the Exeter Northcott Theatre on the following dates:
