Exeter College Chamber Orchestra and Choral Society concert in co-ordination with the Mint Methodist Church 200 Year celebrations.
The Mint Methodist Church is celebrating having a church on its Exeter Fore Street foundations for 200 years. Exeter College music department were delighted to be asked to provide an evening concert so have co-ordinated this event with their 2013 music festival.
The orchestra and Exeter College Choral Society, conducted by Mark Hewitt with Alys Tillson-Hawke and Nicholas Gardiner, will be exploring French music and poetry from the Medieval era to the 20th century.
The programme includes Charpentier’s Te Deum as well as works by Saint-Saens, Bizet and Faure. The evening will also feature a selection of solo recitals from current Exeter College music students and recitations of French poetry by Exeter College language students.
