For the eighth consecutive year, the Thelma Hulbert Gallery is offering its visitor’s the chance to snap up some amazing designer maker gifts for friends, family - or just as a treat for themselves - in the run up to the festive season.

As in previous years, Thelma Hulbert Gallery Curator Angela Blackwell spent the summer months trawling the rich seam of creative designer makers from the South West, drawing together a broad range of local artisans of supreme quality for the annual THG ‘Present Makers’ pre-Christmas selling exhibition at The Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton.

Present Makers 2012 provides the perfect opportunity to browse for refreshingly different gifts in the comfortable surroundings of Thelma’s former home, a grade II listed Georgian villa in a leafy corner of Honiton town. With fresh filter coffee and biscuits constantly available in the THG refreshment room, Present Makers 2012 aims to take the drudgery out of the annual festive frenzy of gift shopping.

This year several old favourites are welcomed back – including Tim Oldham who makes elegant fragranced wood wardrobe hangers, very popular in 2011 – together with new discoveries including funky fabric ‘Oddbods’ by Nikki Hargood, elegant Japanese-inspired ceramics by Trevor Lillistone, and jewellery made from recycled materials by Sophie Meseg. Cathy King from Exeter Phoenix’s Double Elephant Print Workshop is also showing examples of her work
