Well. Oh dear! Half a pound gained. Not so clever, but I deserved it seeing I have been enthusiastically chomping all week. It is becoming more of a struggle with these last pounds. BUT I WILL SHIFT THEM.
It is reassuring that I am not the only one struggling. There is a lady at WeightWatchers who is teetering on the brink of achieving her goal weight. 1lb to go two weeks ago, and then she came in last night saying she knew she had blown it. She had gained 2lb so now she has 3lb to lose. Now that Sharon is back, she'll do it.
Have been thinking about my habits. Some are good and some are decidedly murky. I have decided to stick to counting points for the time being as I feel confident doing that, but must try to vary our meals and sort out some more recipes as we are tending to eat the same thing week in and week out. Chicken and veg. Chicken curry. Vegetable curry. Veg casserole. Chicken drumsticks and salad cream. Chicken this and chicken that.
So we had grilled haddock with new potatoes and salad for dinner and not a chicken in sight. Still a hefty 27 points consumed today, but extra 4.5 earned on my pedometer.

Good day for walking today. Don't have time for porridge this morning so have a yoghurt and fruit when I get into work. Salmon salad for lunch and turkey curry for dinner followed by a sugar free jelly.
Points consumed: 19. Extra points earned: five.

Grandson reminds me it is 42 days to Christmas. Six weeks even. This gives a bit of focus to the old weight loss.
Friday night is fave hostelry night, so we go to visit bar steward who tempts me with chips. I share some sandwiches with husband. A round of cheese and tomato chilli and a round of prawn butties with side salad, coleslaw and crisps. I have the salad and husband has the crisps. This makes quite a substantial meal. One glass of wine. No ice cream, no chips. Still managed to consume 23.5 points but earned an extra five from my walking.

Onto the quay early today for a haircut and blow dry at the Quay Hairdressers. Consumed two cups of black coffee, no biscuits, while Sarah worked her magic. Then home to collect husband and into town to do some banking and to pick up some bits from Marks & Spencer.
Off to Otter Nurseries for lunch, not realising that it was the day that Santa Claus was arriving by helicopter. After fighting our way through at least a million children, we arrived at the café and I had a mixed meat salad and husband had cottage pie. We resisted pudding and had a lollipop at home instead.
Tea was the usual chicken drumsticks and salad cream or bread sauce for us (how boring is that?) and dog had the beef and ham left over from my lunch.
Best television of the week so we watched John Sergeant battle it out on Strictly Come Dancing, then younger son joined us as he wanted to watch some boxing on the telly. Out came the WeightWatcher éclairs and chocolate cakes.
Points consumed: 28.5. Extra points earned: three. Not very good.

Weather not bad today so we made some porridge and read the papers for a while and then suggested to dog, who was hanging round looking hopeful, that he might like to join us on a trip to Exmouth. Dog agrees that this might be quite nice, and swiftly shows us to his lead in case we had forgotten where it was.
A bracing walk and then we all stop off at dog's fave café. Husband says he will eat the same as me so I have the responsibility of making a healthy choice. Go for baked beans on toast with a poached egg on top. No butter and a pot of tea. Husband moans about the lack of butter.
Home to potter around for a bit before we have dinner which is a pork and cider casserole with spring greens and leeks, followed by fresh strawberries.
Points for the Day: 20. Points earned: four.

Yesterday morning, my scales showed that I was half a pound up on the previous Sunday. Here's hoping that is gone by this Tuesday.
Had a big mixed salad with peppers and beans for lunch followed by fresh raspberries, then for dinner we slumped back to boring chicken with bread sauce and veg.
Points for day 16 with 4.5 earned.

Well will I have lost some this week or not? Getting paranoid now. I guess I might have done, but won't know for sure until I step on Sharon's scales tonight. Have porridge for breakfast today and a mixed salad for lunch with raspberries for pud. Feel quite nervous.
Ah ha! 1.5lbs off! Good-oh. Now I am back on course. Tomorrow I am going to look through my cookbooks so I can sort out some scintillating new recipes. Mention this to husband and he suggests we go to tell our fave bar steward about it.
