Daniel gets a rousing send-off to capital

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 23:00

A YOUNG Exeter actor-cum-musician has raised hundreds of pounds towards his career hopes after organising a concert in Exeter.

Daniel Bartlett and his friends from Exeter College joined together to put on the show.

Daniel has just won a place at the prestigious Arts Educational School in London and the concert aimed to raise money to fund his course.

Daniel beat thousands of hopefuls to win a place at the school, which has taught such stars as Julie Andrews, Martin Clunes and Sarah Brightman.

He said: "The evening was brilliant, everyone really pulled together. It was a really good, fun gig.

"All of the performers are now off to university or college, so it was a fantastic way to finish off the year and say goodbye."

The concert raised £350, which will be put towards Daniel's tuition fees.

He starts at the college on September 5 and said: "I'm terrified but really looking forward to it".
