Work by major artist on show
Her etchings and lithographs spanning over 20 years will be on display at the Brook Gallery, Fore Street, in Budleigh Salterton.
The exhibition runs from Sunday, July 12, to Monday, August 10, with a private view organised with acclaimed British contemporary artist Chris Orr on Saturday, July 11.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1935, Paula travelled to England in the 1950s to study at the Slade School of Fine Art.
She made London her home with her husband, artist Victor Willing, in 1976, dividing her time between London and Portugal.
Some say a Goya influence underlines her style.
A Brook spokeswoman said: "This portfolio of work at the Brook celebrates her independent approach to the print medium and to its long association with storytelling, including nursery rhymes, Peter Pan, The Pendle Witches and two beautiful etchings released this year.
"Paula is one of the leading figurative artists working today.
"She cleverly entwines her own experiences with those of dreams and fantasies.
"Gleaned from the frailties of life and exploring the struggles between men and women, this series of original prints is inspired by modern and classic literature and the political and social realities of today."
The private view on July 11 takes place from 6pm to 9pm with wine and canapes.
The opening hours for the exhibition are 10.30am to 5pm, except on Sunday when the exhibition is closed in the mornings.
