Should 'fox control' mean hunt review?
WHAT a surprise, the Conservative, hunt-loving Government is going to consider 'whether further guidance or legislation is needed' regarding 'fox control' in the light of an attack on two babies in London.
With just one suspected attack on those babies — no concrete evidence has yet been forthcoming regarding bite sizes and depth etc — the blood -loving Tories are desperate to find a reason to re-introduce legal slaughter.
How strange that a man can go wild, with legal firearms, kill or injure over 20 people — not for the first time in this country — but the Government say it has no plans to review or change the gun laws, as it doesn't want to be involved in a 'knee-jerk' reaction.
Many people with serious mental health problems have been left to roam in public, killing random people, but little is done.
At least one woman a week, in this country, is killed by a present or former partner, but I haven't heard or read any mass public or media hysteria calling for a widespread cull in the male human population.
Some people have died from cat scratches, but many of us still live with cats.
Hundreds of people die in cars but still no call for scrapping ALL of them.
Lets get this into prospective and realise that even if its true, such behaviour is so unusual in an animal that will normally bolt away if threatened.
Having lived in East London for 12 years, I must say that I'd be far more worried as why these parents would ever leave any access open, where any ill-intentioned intruder could enter. Buying a fan for your babies hot bedroom would be a lot safer option for parents.

“Yes the case needs looking into, yes its bizarre. But what about all the babies and children mauled and killed by peoples so-called "trophy" dogs, what are we doing about that?”

“As a qualified Nursery Nurse for over 30yrs, I find it strange to think that you beleive that I don't care about the babies.
I spent many years working with neglected and abused children, so I know that the biggest threat to any of our babies is from other humans, not from ANY animal. When you;ve seen first-hand, what another human, (sometimes relatives), can do to children you see the real danger in the world.
There are many questions that haven't had answers yet, such as if that cub which the policeman filmed WAS the 'guilty' fox why is the no sign of any blood on his face? Where is the forensic evidence? If that was the cub, why are people still trapping and killing any fox? I refer back to my letter regarding 'knee-jerk' reactions!
Any parent, especially in a big city, that has had something happen to their child, whilst they left the house wide open and watched T.V. is bound to feel guilty and want to blame someone else, but they could've found their babies taken for ever had a human got into the open house.
I expect they keep their car locked because of the risks.
Animals are easy targets, but I'd worry about the harm other humans can do to your kids, before wiping out the entire animal world!”

“This is discusting. What is wrong with animal activists?
One of the twins is still in intensive care on a ventilator and Mrs Y Street is attacking their parents. She says 'no concrete evidence', well I call fox bite marks, a police officer as a witness and a photo, pretty good evidence! She seeks to compare Cumbria to this incident. They are totally different issues. One is protection of humans from humans not necessarily with a mental health history. The other is protecting human children from animals! We have this with dogs under the Dangerous Dogs Act. We do have a specific fast-track dedicated system for Domestic Violence Offenders. The cat Scratch thing is just weird. This was a fox biting two children in the face putting them in intensive care, not a scatch.
'Lets get this into (perspective)'...This behaviour is not isolated. Also, 9 month old twins cannot scare off a fox and make 'it bolt away'. We need to protect our Children.
People should be able to live in peace with their back doors open. Only an animal rights aactivist could put the fox above the health and lives of 9 month old twins!!”
