OUTDOOR pursuits retailer GO Outdoors has opened its new store in Exeter, creating around 55 jobs.

Lord Mayor Councillor Stella Brock cut a ribbon to officially open the new superstore yesterday. The 33,000 sq ft outlet in Marsh Barton Road features an indoor climbing wall, cycle service centre and outdoor tent area as well as a coffee shop.

Dartmoor Search & Rescue will also be fundraising in the branch during the opening week. Store manager Andrew Pollard said: "Let's just hope that the sunny weather will continue so people can make the most of the outdoors, and all the activities that Exeter offers."

GO Outdoors has already opened three stores this year, in Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester and York.

See tomorrow's Echo to find out how you could win £250 of GO Outdoors vouchers.
