NOSTALGIA readers are being asked to lend a hand to an American woman's quest to find her twin half-brothers.

Nancy Hulett Bright, from Jacksonport, Arizona, has sent the Echo pictures of her father, George E Hulett.

He served in the US Army and was in Devon in the weeks leading up to D-Day, on June 6, 1944.

Mrs Hulett Bright said: "I am searching for my siblings, who I believe were born somewhere in England.

"Dad was at Slapton Sands in Devon in April 1944. He was at the marshalling area in Devon for D-Day preparation.

"He landed at Normandy and was there during the liberation of France.

"He fought in The Ardennes, at the Battle of the Bulge, Belgium, and in Germany until they surrendered.

"He was sent to the Pacific for preparation to drop the bomb on Japan.

"He returned to Europe after that mission and left England on December 25, 1945.

"He arrived in New York in January 1946."

Mr Hulett went on to graduate from officer training school as a Second Lieutenant in 1949 and was sent to Germany from 1950 until 1953.

His daughter said: "He travelled back and forth in England, visiting a lady that later had children, possibly twin boys.

"She was the daughter of a doctor.

"Dad made contact in 1983 with the doctor trying to obtain information about these children.

"He was advised not to call again and that the boys had been adopted by their stepfather.

"Someone out there knows my father and someone out there has him as their father also.

"I want to get to know my siblings."

If you can help, Mrs Hulett Bright can be reached at PO Box 91, Jacksonport, AR 72075, USA, or you can send an email to brighteyes6647@aol.com.
