Pupils going bananas!

Thursday, February 04, 2010, 23:00

A RANGE of healthy fruits are tingling the taste buds of pupils at a Cullompton school.

Youngsters from St Andrew's Primary School spent an afternoon working with staff at the Tesco superstore to create the perfect fruit salad for a health-related design project.

Senior teacher Sue Whitell said the school now hoped to build relations with other businesses in the area.

Mrs Whitell said the youngsters researched and tried different varieties to make their own fruit salads.

She said: "It is very topical and we are hard at work trying to promote healthy eating and encouraging them to try different tastes — so there are all sorts of things we hope will come out of this."
