Crash man has back injuries

A MAN was airlifted to hospital with serious back injuries after he was cut free from a crashed car.

Emergency services were called to the A379 near Kenton at about 12.15pm yesterday following a collision between a Citroen C5 and an Alfa Romeo.

The 25-year-old Teignmouth driver of the Alfa Romeo was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.

Police said his injuries were not life threatening and he was in a stable condition.

The road was closed to vehicles while the accident was cleared.
