HUNDREDS of parents have seen their children perform in a play about evacuees at an Exeter school.

Years 5 and 6 from St Michael's C of E Primary put on the play The Evacuees, written by Chris Adams and Michael Sullivan. Performances were held last week.

The school's Sarah Sowden said: “The two performances were hugely enjoyed by over 200 parents and friends. A performance for the rest of the school also took place.

“The story revolves around five children evacuated to the countryside at the outbreak of war in 1939 and their attempt to return home.”
