Expert advice on antiques sought by ELF

Tuesday, February 02, 2010, 23:00

EXETER cancer charity ELF is looking for antique experts to help it sort donations.

The charity receives a wide variety of donations from clothes to books, furniture and bric-a-brac, which are sold in its charity shops at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital and Crediton.

From time to time a potentially rare or antique gem is uncovered when donations are sorted at its Exeter store. Recently, a first edition Ian Fleming James Bond novel was discovered which raised £200 for the charity, as a result of expert advice.

To ensure the maximum value of all donations is realised ELF is looking for experts who would come to the store from time to time to value potential gems. If you have knowledge of antiques, rare books or curios, ELF would love you to get in touch.

If you can help call 01392 493344.

More information on what ELF does across the South West can be found at www.elfcharity.org.uk.
