Snow on the way as bitter chill sets in
The Met Office is predicting snow in parts of the Westcountry, and temperatures dropping further to give a sharp frost overnight.
Forecaster Stephen Holman said it was expected to be another cold day, with maximum temperatures in Exeter around 4C.
It will get a lot colder overnight, with inland areas experiencing temperatures of around minus 3C.
Mr Holman said: "The closer to the coast and the further west you go the milder it will be."
Tomorrow, daytime temperatures will struggle to top zero and another frost is possible overnight.
There's little respite to the cold weather for the rest of the week.
On Thursday and Friday, temperatures will again drop below freezing overnight, although in the daytime they will improve slightly.
The long spell of cold weather is being caused by a persistent area of high pressure across Britain and the windchill factor is making it feel particularly cold.
Low pressure is expected to eventually bring milder, wetter weather at the weekend.
Expect frost tonight
