Students face audience for music exam

Saturday, June 13, 2009, 23:00

NOT many students do their final exams in full view of the public — but music students at Exeter College impressed an audience when they did just that.

The 20 students studying for national diplomas in music performance played funk, rock, blues and popular dance music at a concert held at Exeter Phoenix.

Entitled Get Down On It, the concert, which was their final major performance, was assessed.

Songs included Rebel Yell by Billy Idol and Get Down On It by Cool and the Gang.

Head of music Laura Wright said: "It went very well. It was packed and the audience seemed to enjoy it. We have had a lot of good feedback from parents and other people.

"I thought that the students did particularly well. I am very proud of them and wish them luck as they go onto the next stage of their lives."
