Devon schools' 'outstanding' after truancy success

More than 230 youngsters who were persistently absent from school in Devon returned to classes in the last academic year.

And the success of education welfare officers' and teachers' work with pupils means Devon is no longer ranked among the worst areas in the country for children missing lessons regularly.
