Top prizes at auction for multiple sclerosis centre

Saturday, December 05, 2009, 23:00

A CHANCE to sail on a luxury yacht, a House of Commons' bottle of whisky and a signed Exeter City shirt are just some of the prizes up for grabs at a fundraising auction.

The Anchor Inn, at Cockwood, near Dawlish, will be holding the auction in aid of the South West Multiple Sclerosis Centre in Exeter, on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

The pub's landlady Alison Sanders, said: "This fantastic centre is used by hundreds of people affected by MS in the Westcountry.

"The charity is self-funded so relies heavily on charitable donations. This year, due to the recession, the donations have been down 30 per cent so customer Liz Thompson decided to organise a charity auction to raise much-needed funds.

"Liz, who lives in Dawlish, uses the centre for exercise sessions and high dosage oxygen therapy."
