No portrait in my attic, but I might still live to 100
I READ Mike Byrne's column every week and the one he penned on May 3 inspired me to follow suit and climb into my loft to clear it out, much to the dismay of the couple who live upstairs. I didn't find a portrait of Dorian Gray but I did have a stack of old videos from the 1980s that I hadn't seen since I recorded them.
Stacy had never watched me on TV as she was in California throughout my glory days. What was I wearing? I'm pleased to say that the look of my suits with those shoulder pads made her feel at home: more precisely at a 49ers game.

LEGEND: Elvis in Budleigh?
I've put them back up there and I'll retrieve them when I'm 101 years old! That isn't as daft as it sounds. This week it was reported that within two years we could have a medicine that would help us live past a hundred years. The drugs have come out of research into age-related ailments such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer's.
While I remember, last Sunday we went to Bickleigh Mill. You might want to do the same. Spend an hour wandering around by the stream, then head back through Bickleigh, up over the hill toward Butterleigh without saying the word 'Utterly'. Turn right on the Old Butterleigh Road and come back down towards Silverton and onto the A396. Lovely views.
I read this week that a radio station is signing up that well-known broadcaster Shane Ritchie to host their breakfast show. I've know Shane for years; we rubbed shoulder pads back in the Eighties on the telly and played together in the Showbiz 11 football team. He's a nice guy, though I think he's heading for a ruder awakening than his potential listeners. I wish him well and look forward to going up against him.
Speaking of which, as of now I'm hosting the breakfast show six days a week. Join me tomorrow at the slightly later time of 7am until 11am.
Finally, what a difference a week makes! We now know that Helen Mirren's waxwork actually looks like her, Exeter City will be playing League One football next season and David Cameron will be living at Number 10! Hopefully the next seven days will bring us all sunshine and good fortune. Ciao, tutti.
Oh; here's Nino doing an Elvis in Budleigh. More about that next week!
