The revenge of a lover spurned
SPURNED lover Nigel Hadley sought revenge when his partner broke up with him — by creating her profile on a prostitution website.
The mother-of-two received sexually explicit messages and phone calls from strangers, Exeter magistrates heard.

REJECTED: Nigel Hadley put his former partner's details on a prostitutes website
She was also bombarded with texts from Hadley after she broke up the relationship, including one of a threatening nature.
Hadley, 55, subjected his victim, from Exmouth, to a frightening vendetta over a two- month period between December 3, 2009, and January 24, this year. During that time he was also accused of scattering tacks on her driveway — a claim he denies.
He admitted:
Putting her contact details on the prostitution website.
Ordering Indian takeaway to her address.
Making a series of threatening and abusive telephone calls and text messages.
Hadley, of Popham Close, Tiverton, pleaded guilty to harassment. He was a jobless sales manager at the time but is now working as a £100 a week handyman and living with his 86-year-old parents.
The victim called off the relationship, which had lasted four-and-a- half-years, the court was told.
Hadley was angry when he discovered on her Facebook site that she was seeing another man and sent her “sarcastic congratulations”.
Neil Lawson, prosecuting, said she received more than 100 unwanted texts and phone calls following the split.
“She started a new relationship with another man after the break-up,” said Mr Lawson.
“There was a sustained vendetta, conduct that clearly was intended to cause maximum upset, desperation and distress.
“On December 3 she received 24 texts she described as threatening. Earlier in November tacks and screws were thrown on her driveway.”
He said some of the texts that she received were of a salacious and sexual nature from strangers. And she also received calls from men after her details were put on an adult website by Hadley, advertising a range of sexual services.
Stephen Nunn, representing the defendant, said Hadley was sorry for what he had done but did not accept he put tacks on the woman’s driveway.
He said: “He was not happy with the break-up. There had been no major falling out and he moved back to live with his parents.
“He was very hurt that she had formed a new relationship with a man — he was very upset and did a series of things. He wanted to force the hurt back on her.
“Hadley is not proud of his actions. It is something he thought he would never do.
“It is unlikely he will reoffend and he’s of previous good character.”
Magistrates adjourned the case until Wednesday, February 24, for probation reports.
Conditional bail was granted to include a ban on Hadley contacting the victim or going near her home or place of work in Exeter.
Outside the court he told the Echo: “I regret what I did but I felt hurt and let down.”
