Many roads closed as flooding hits Exeter and Devon, trains also disrupted

Heavy rain and flooding has caused widespread travel disruption.

The A361 is closed both ways at the A396 Bolham Road in Tiverton due to flooding.

The A376 at Clyst George is shut in both directions between the B3179 and B3178 Imperial Road for the same reason as is the A377 at Crediton between Mill Street and Stoke Road.

Flooding has also caused the closure of the A396 Exeter Road at Bickleigh, the A3072 in Copplestone at the A377 junction.

A wide number of other roads are affected and emergency services are advising drivers not to set out at all unless the journey is necessary and to check websites and local radio for updates.

The rail service is suspended on CrossCountry and First Great Western between Exeter St Davids and Taunton due to flooding at Tiverton Parkway. Services are suspended on South West Trains between Exeter St Davids and

Yeovil Junction due to flooding at Axminster and a landslide at Honiton.
