Exeter Guildhall, High Street: RedBall UK is a large-scale public art project that invites you to look twice, to explore and to think what it? Following appearances in Sydney, Taipei and Abu Dhabi – among others – the giant, inflatable RedBall is now coming to Exeter. 10am-6pm. Free.

Exeter Cathedral: Murder in the Capital - T.S. Eliot’s dramatic masterpiece will be presented in Exeter Cathedral by The Cathedral Players. The play recounts the murder in1170 of Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, by four knights who thought they were carrying out the wishes of King Henry II. Becket was killed on the steps of the altar in his own Cathedral. King Henry did penance for Becket’s death for the rest of his life. £9/£5 per ticket.

RAMM: Exeter's Fine Art Collection: This new display of RAMM’s own art collection includes some of the museum’s most famous paintings alongside important new acquisitions never before seen in Exeter. From 18th-century portraits, Devon and Exeter landscapes to modern abstract works, there is a rich variety on view. Free.

Exeter Northcott, Exeter University: The Enourmous Turnip - Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company present The Enormous Turnip! In a tiny house the size of a shed, Mr and Mrs Chickweed live on their allotment surrounded by vegetables aplenty. But they can't resist planting one more seed and as their turnip grows it threatens their house with disaster! Can anyone help pull up their Enormous Turnip? For seedlings aged 2yrs+ and their families. £10 per ticket. 3pm-4.30pm.

Crediton Food Festival - Town Square: Sample and buy delicious food from the range of stalls, see cookery demonstrations by top local chefs including a master class by Christopher Archambault on buying/using knives in the kitchen. See the awards presentation for the schools recipe competition. Talk from local drinks producer and sampling accompanied by live music (Saturday evening). Big Sunday lunch - bring your own and/or buy from the stalls and enjoy a picnic listening to live music. Licensed bar. Free entry. Events take place from 10.30am - 4.00pm and 8.00pm - 11.00pm (Sat), 12 noon-4.00pm (Sun).

Exeter Phoenix Voodoo Lounge, Bradninch Place, Exeter: Kieran Goss - Kieran’s beautifully crafted, poetically lyrical songs have made him on of Ireland’s national treasures wooing audiences with a range of music from romantic smooth, gentle songs such as I’ll be Seeing You to playful upbeat tunes such as The Reason Why. 8-10pm.

Exeter Phoenix, Bradninch Place, Exeter: Ellie Williams - The Devon-based singer songwriter is known for her ability to wow audiences with her sublime vocals and heart-wrenching lyrics. Ellie creates a mix of acoustic pop, folk and gospel and has been likened to artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Kate Bush and Shawn Colvin. Her live performances are warm, informal and honest, losing herself into the heart of some of the deepest melodic songs. Watching Ellie perform is seeing an artist quite literally singing her soul out. £9.50/£7.50 per ticket.

RAMM: James Ravilious: Reflecting the Rural - Seeing James Ravilious captivating photographs of North Devon is an unmissable experience. The Beaford Archive originally commissioned them as a photographic record of life in a largely unspoilt, but vulnerable, country area. The result is the most intensive record of any rural area in England. But it is more than that. James pictures are composed with the eye of an artist. Above all, they are warmed by his affection and admiration for the people whose lives he recorded. His pictures reveal real life as it was being lived in late 20th century rural England when the country traditions that have been handed down for hundreds, if not thousands, of years were still part of everyday existence. Free. Until July 29th.

Powderham Castle, Kenton: Dads are invited to visit for free when accompanied by a paying child this Fathers’ Day. Treat Dad to a day out he’ll remember with archery and birds of prey as well as all our usual attractions. ‘Grab a bow and have a go’ with Exeter Company of Archers or get close to one of Hawkridge’s birds of prey and even handle one!
