Alan likes the look of new format
But the flanker admitted the format of the new Championship will also pose problems at the end of the campaign.
Miller will serve as club skipper next term at the start of the new league, working closely with on-field captain Tommy Hayes.
And the 27-year-old former Bath player thinks the 12-team division will be a welcome change from the old 16-team National League One.
Promotion will now come down to a one-off game following end-of-season play-offs rather than being decided over the whole season.
"It's refreshing to know you don't have to go into every game with the pressure of having to win it," said Miller.
"But it's going to be hard playing towards the end of the year when you have to win games."
Along with the new league, the Chiefs will also play in a new cup competition next season.
The British & Irish Cup will see Exeter play in a group with Plymouth Albion, the Cornish Pirates, Welsh club Newport, Irish heavyweights Leinster and Scottish side Thistles.
Miller, who played for England as a schoolboy, is excited by the prospect of facing sides from other countries.
Exeter have played Scottish sides in pre-season in the not-too-distant past, and hosted Llanelli Scarlets two years ago, but playing an Irish team will be a big change for the club.
Miller said: "Playing new sides from Wales, Scotland and Ireland is going to be very exciting. I haven't played against sides like that since I was a colt.
"Playing an Irish team will be a new experience and a Scottish team — bar a couple of pre-season games — will be completely new as well."
