Chiefs keep getting better, says Lewis
The Irishman thinks the Sandy Park outfit have improved a lot since he joined Exeter in June last year.
He feels they have even come on in leaps and bounds since the opening game of this season at the end of August.
And Stevenson hopes his side can continue to develop their play when they face Craig West's side at home.
Part of the development has seen the forwards running with the ball in the wide channels, including Stevenson himself.
The 24-year-old is enjoying being able to get his hands on the ball in open play.
"It's part of our game plan to play a bit wider and it's good to get to run with the ball in my hands rather than being stuck in the middle of things," he said.
"We've got our basics sorted and we're trying to push things on, both individually and as a team.
"The guys we've brought in this year have really helped us push our game on.
"A lot of quality players were brought in and we can keep pushing things on and getting better all the time.
"If you look at us from the beginning of the season to now we've improved a lot and hopefully we can keep that level of improvement up."
Stevenson thinks Exeter will have to be on form to beat Rotherham tomorrow as the visitors arrive full of confidence.
They hammered Newbury 62-5 last weekend and also pulled off a great win over the Cornish Pirates on their last trip to the South West last month.
"Rotherham are a very physical side, as they always are," said Stevenson. "They've scored a lot of points and they had a big win against Newbury last weekend.
"They'll be really confident so it's important for us to play really well and get on top of them.
"Because of where we are in the table most teams pick their games up when they come to play us."
While head coach Pete Drewett has rotated his squad to good effect this season, Stevenson is the only player to have featured in every match.
He has started 12 of the first 13 games and appeared off the bench in the other. Tom Johnson and Dan Tuohy have played in all bar one match.
With locks Chris Bentley and James Hanks overcoming long-term injuries, Stevenson is happy to get plenty of game time while he can.
"Rob (Baxter) has said that no one's played more than three-quarters of the games in terms of minutes," said Stevenson.
"That's good and keeps everyone fresh and hungry to play so that when we go out on the pitch everyone's raring to go.
"Guys are coming back from injury so I may as well get as much game time while I can."
