Cully beaten by former player

EX-CULLOMPTON Rangers star Danny Baily came off the bench and scored the winning goal for Willand Rovers in the FA Vase clash between the sides last night.

Baily wasn't fit enough to start, but he earned Clive Jones's side a 1-0 win and a home tie against Wessex League side Bemerton Heath in the second round.

Alexis Piper had the best chance of normal time in the very first minute, but he shot straight at Rangers keeper Chris Wright.

And then, after Matt Dawson had missed a gilt-edged chance for Rangers on 70 minutes, Luke Skinner failed to find the net to settle the tie in normal time.

So the match, like the first tie that was declared null and void by the FA after a refereeing error, went into the extra half-hour.

In the Toolstation League Premier Division, Dawlish Town came from behind and won for the third game running as they triumphed 4-1 at Barnstaple Town.

After Danny Tapp had given the hosts an early lead, Town stormed back through Joe Bushin, Simon Laughton, Liam Moseley and Darren Vickery.

First Division side Elmore were celebrating a second successive win last night as they scored two first half goals to claim the points at Bridport.

Lloyd Beech headed home in the first five minutes and Steve Rowland netted the second just before the break.

Such was the Eagles' dominance that keeper Danny Lewis did not have a save to make as Elmore wrapped up a 2-0 win.
