Golf round-up
The Bert Wills Trophy for best scratch score went to Teignmouth's Alan Munson 29 points (35-6) and the Over-65s Trophy was won by Melvyn Langdon of Dainton Park with 37 points.
Alex Dudley picked up her second prize in two days by winning the girls' event in the Junior Open at Woodbury Park.
Tiverton took 15 juniors to Woodbury and 23-handicapper Dudley returned victorious after a nett 72.
Harry Callahan had a 73 to finish runner-up in Division One at Woodbury while Josh Crook posted a 64 to come second in Division Two.
The day before Dudley finished second in the nett competition in the Devon Girls' Championship at Tavistock, where her 66 reduced her handicap from 25 to 23.
Later on that day, she beat Lee Jones 3&2 at East Devon in the East Devon Junior League.
Tiverton took 11 juniors to the Devon Girls' Championship and Dudley's 66 put her second in the Kay Sharp Cup for the best nett score over 18 holes.
Colin Baker, Eric Cole and Steve Hosford scored 89 stableford points to win the three-man team event on Saturday. Ian Budden, Heath Ellis and Dave Simpson were second on 87.
The ladies' President's II team secured a fine 4½-2½ win at Churston with Jill Ford winning 6&4, Liz Hall 2 up and Pauline Pym and Ivy Radford both edging through 1 up.
Tiverton's ladies lost 5½-1½ at RND in the Sheelah Creasy Bowl on Monday.
Jason Rabbage just pipped Stuart Gray to win the May Cup after drawing on nett 64.
Sarah Thomas and Ben Harding scored an impressive 50 points to take the Kerswill-Phillips cup.
Jackie Kerswill and brother Mike Phillips came second in the trophy named in their honour.
Peter Wood and Alan Hopkins took the win in the Vets' American Greensomes on countback over Derek Spicer and Colin Ofield, both recording 45 points.
Vets captain Tim Morgan partnered 80-year-old Robin Bruford-Davies to victory with 41 points in their away day super seniors event at High Bullen.
Dave Rookes led home Colin McLellan in the Wednesday stableford, scoring 41 and 39 points respectively.
Sue Broderick made it two wins in a week as she beat Jan Foster on countback with 38 points for the RNLI medal, while Heather Petty came third, two shots behind.
Paul Sumner and Simon Carr prevailed 3&2 against father and son pairing of Mike and Mikey Penlington in the Alan Hopkins Winter Knockout final.
In the Men's Invitation, Dave Richards and guest R Flower scored 45 points, to take the event from Barry Pomeroy and M Hawker, who ended on 42.

Honiton's M Kent, E Bilyard and G Filtness saw off 41 other teams to take victory in the club's annual open.
The trio scored 84 stableford points, while D Hepburn, J Locke and J Palmer made the best showing for the home club with a total of 79 points. Locke also had the best individual score of the day with 39 points.
Other individual prize winners were R Cox of Teign Valley with the highest visitors score of 38 points and Padbrook Park's M Smith for the longest drive.
Neil Holland recorded five birdies as his team — including Mark Seward and Steve Barber — claimed the Famous Easterbrooks on 85 points.
That was a three-point margin from in-form Eric McMath, Brian Rostron and Pat McCormack in second.
Sixteen players each from Sidmouth and East Devon contested the first leg of the annual Picture Match, with Sid running out 15-9 winners.
Terry Jones, Jim Anderton and Nick Bater made good debuts, taking six out of the eight foursome points in the morning session.
East Devon fought back in the afternoon to reduce the advantage, and will need to be at their best to overcome Sid in the second leg in September.
Fast improving junior Jack Hodge led the way with 47 points in the stableford, with Hugh Dorliac and Kym White tied second on 43.
Ray Scott collected 40 points for top prize in the seniors, two ahead of Bruce Harcourt.
And the seniors' team recorded two excellent away wins in quick succession, 4-2 at Taunton & Pickeridge, and 4½-2½ at Honiton.
Cliff Partridge scored 39 in the first individual stableford of the season — one better than a chasing pack six who all finished on 38.
The ladies June Stableford and Cuthell Cup attracted a large field and winner of both was Alison James who carded 39.

Teignmouth raised more than £3,000 for Macmillan Nursing Care on the Captain's Charity Day with skipper John Hall overwhelmed with the support.
Club officials said: "In all, the day was a resounding success and a really big thank you must go to everyone concerned."
Alison Horton claimed the combined EWGA Medal 6 and Clarke Trophy as she carded nett 69.
Anwen Breading on 73 was second and Laura Millar with 75 was third.
Molly Hutchings won the EWGA Medal 6 with nett 77 followed by Anne Woodger and Bernadette Maynard with 78 each.
In-form Terry Harrison won Division 1 of the midweek stableford with 37 points, ahead of Phil Durbin on 36. Graham Cumes topped the Division 2 list with 37.
The seniors' section monthly stableford resulted in a win for Bob Feather with 36 points followed by Mike Wilde with 35, Pete Jarman on 34 and Bernard Maunder.
Bernie Startup of Exeter GCC was the overall winner of the seniors' section open, his 40 points beating that of home player Steve Tuckett on countback.
Teignmouth's Rod Hoy on 39 points, Chris Stokes from Stover on 39, Doug Smalldon from Great Torrington on 36 and Tiverton's Gordon White with 35 completed the visitors' line-up while Brian Donald with 38, Charles Wray on 37, Bob Feather 37, and Colin Hatherley 37 took prizes for the home players.
Marcus Quick won Division One of the Swans Nest Monthly Medal with a nett 66, followed by Paul Collings on 67 and Adrian Blake with 68.
Peter Woodger was the Division Two winner with nett 65 from Terry Webster 68 and Graham Bulford on 70.
The medal went to the Division Three leader Steve Ebdon who carded a handicap busting nett 60, with Dave Oke and new handicapper Joe Baker, aged just 12-years-old, second with a very creditable 68.
Padbrook Park's Dave Turner and Sid Sanders from Okehampton beat off 192 other entrants to win the 4 Ball Better Ball Open Stableford.
K Harkness and J Heal from Okehampton and Exeter respectively came in second with 45 points while third were the home club's Rob Camies and Barry Down who scored 44.
The best visitors prize went to Devon Greenslade and Gary Price from Crediton with 42 points.
The best all Okehampton team were Mike Wonnacott and Pete Okopski with 44 points on the back nine from Kevin Cornwall and Malcolm Hill.
Rosemary Pratt won the Silver Division in the EWGA Medal 6 with a nett score of 71, followed by Peggy Lomas on 72, and Janet Brunwin in third on countback from Sue Fowler who both finished with nett scores of 73.
The Bronze Division was won by Sandra Sydenham with a nett score of 73.
In second place was Frances Hurrell on nett 74, closely followed by Deirdre Mackness with a nett score of 75 beating Hilary Drew into fourth place after countback.
