COMPETITION: Put on the style to be Face of Princesshay
ANYONE who has ever fancied themselves as a supermodel is being asked to take part in a new competition.
If strutting down a catwalk and striking a pose is your bag, then now is the chance to shine as the first Face of Exeter's Princesshay competition is launched.
-

Princesshay shopping quarter and the Express & Echo have teamed up to scout out stylish individuals with personality and presence.
Not only will the top male and female represent the city's award-winning shopping centre for a year by turning on the Christmas lights and taking part in its spring fashion event, but the prize also includes £500 each to spend in Princesshay shops; a session with professional stylist and personal shopper Chantelle Znideric from Topstylista; a photoshoot with a professional fashion photographer; being the cover model for glossy magazine Living Devon, and a picture spread in the Echo.
The judges include Princesshay centre director Wayne Pearce, the Echo's Lynne Turner, and Chantelle Znideric.
"We will be looking for people with natural style," Chantelle said. "They will need to be distinctive and have something that makes them stand out.
"We will also be looking at the personality behind their look.
"It doesn't matter what they are wearing, we will be looking at how they carry it off. We want to see people who have confidence in themselves."
Chantelle applauds unique style, naming some famous faces as fashion icons.
"I think Lady Gaga has fun with fashion," she said. "The singer is certainly individual and unique.
"She is always pushing the boundaries and carrying off out-there looks off with finesse.
"I think Kylie Minogue adopts a flirty feminine style and dresses exceptionally well for her small stature.
"I like men who have an effortless classic style, like Gucci designer Tom Ford — and Neptunes' singer Pharrell Williams has a unique urban style that suits his lifestyle, his personality and his array of creative talents."
To be in with a chance of winning this competition visit the Princesshay shopping quarter between Friday, September 24 and Saturday, October 2 to enter.
Make sure you look your best, as the Echo team will be on site to take your picture and help you to fill out the entry form.
All entrants must currently live in Exeter or East Devon, and be aged between 16 and 30. Parental permission is required from under 18-year-olds.
All entries will be showcased in a special Face of Exeter's Princesshay supplement before readers are invited to vote for their favourites.
The 12 finalists — six male and six female — will be invited to take part in catwalk event at Coal Grill & Bar in Princesshay in November, at which the judging panel will decide on the winners.
Keep reading the Echo for details of a new website to be launched on the Face of Exeter's Princesshay.
Get inspiration from Princesshay's Autumn/Winter Fashion Show on Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25.
Visitors will be able to indulge themselves in a special pampering area offering free treatments and style advice.
