FRIENDS and family of tragic Exeter groom-to-be Tony Kyle have set up an internet tribute to honour his memory.

Mr Kyle, who lived in Exwick, fell to his death just after he arrived on the Costa Brava in Spain last Friday for his stag party.

Messages of condolence from friends, relatives and team-mates have been posted on the Echo's website and a permanent tribute has been set up on Echo site www.lastingtribute.co.uk

According to Spanish media, roofer Mr Kyle, who played football for Heavitree Social United, fell 15m while climbing a steep slope to his hotel. He and a group of 13 friends, including his father, arrived in Lloret del Mar on Friday to celebrate his imminent wedding to fiancée Emma.

Samantha Street, from Bath, wrote: "I am Emma's cousin and I just wanted to leave a note to say that Tony will always be remembered as the life and soul of every party. He made Emma so happy and everyone else around him.

"Tony, you will be deeply missed and you were overwhelmingly loved by everyone who knew you. My heartfelt best wishes go to Gaynor and Paul and everyone else in Tony's family, too.

"We all feel pain and a great sense of loss at losing such an amazing guy. I'm still in shock. My deepest sympathies to everyone who knew Tony and I know he will be sorely missed.

"Emma, keep your chin up babe, we all love you so much and will be here for you, no matter what. Your cousin, Sammy."

Shawn King, from Exeter, wrote: "Just can't believe this has happened. What a top, top guy Tony was, very well liked by all and his current football manager at Heavitree.

"The guys are devastated at this tragic loss. My love and thoughts at this time go out to Emma and family who loved him so dearly.

"Tony you will be so sorely missed by all but never ever forgotten."

Bryan Howard wrote: "A great team player and friend who will be sadly be missed by all at Whipton and Pinhoe FC. Heartfelt sympathy to his family and fiancée from all the team."

Adrian Sweeny wrote: "There is no justice in this world when a life of someone with so much to live for is taken so young. Tony you were a scholar and a gent and will be sorely missed."

Dean Brown, from Exeter, wrote: "On this tragic day our prayers go out to friends and family to a fellow footballer. RIP from all in the Exeter and Devon league."

Emma and Leigh Smith, from Gosport, wrote: "Totally shocked. My family and I used to live next door to Anthony when we were little, always sleeping round each other's houses and having loads of fun together.

"The news has left us saddened and in disbelief. We have many memories of Anthony, and our thoughts go out to Gaynor, Paul, Leah and family, and of course Anthony's fiancée."

Helen Richards, of Exeter, wrote: "We were all shocked to hear the very sad news. Tony worked for Anthony and myself when he left school along with Craig. He was a great chap to work with and I know Craig and Tony had good fun at college!

"From myself, Tony and Craig, we would like to send our deepest condolences to Emma, Tony's mum and dad and sister."

Louise Fisher wrote: "I grew up with Anthony when he lived in Gosport about 10 years ago before his family moved to Exeter. I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news.

"Thoughts are with the family. It's always the good ones."

Mr Kyle's family were due to return from Spain yesterday.
